Bankruptcy suspends all collection efforts while your bankruptcy is pending. It does not wipe out the tax debt or the penalty and interest. It only provides some breathing room for settling the debt.
If you have not paid the taxes and the bankruptcy is dismissed, we can pursue the collection remedies in state court as if the bankruptcy had never happened.
The bankruptcy does not affect the lien for the tax, penalty and interest.
Q: I abandoned this property in the bankruptcy, why I am still being taxed for it?
A: Unless you actually deed the property to someone else, or another creditor forecloses, you remain the record owner, and the taxes will remain in your name and all collection efforts must focus on you.
